As the Director for External Relations for The Gunston School, my essential job functions include:

  • leading the External Relations team in planning the strategic and operational efforts of both communications and advancement by enhancing the visibility of the school, strengthening the relationships between the school and its constituent groups, managing external communications, and organizing all phases of the school’s institutional advancement program, alumni relations programs, and special events.

As the Director of Creative Services for Washington College, my essential job functions included:

  • Managing all of WC's graphic design projects

  • Developing creative concepts in collaboration with other departments and executing and project managing initiatives from start to finish

  • Developing and implementing strategic communication and marketing plans for undergraduate admissions in collaboration with the Director of Marketing Communications

  • Updating and implementing brand standards

  • Designing the 3x per year Washington Alumni publication

  • Supporting the Vice President for Enrollment Management & Marketing with marketing initiatives

  • Supervising and managing a Graphic Designer as well as other support staff and student workers within College Relations and Marketing and Enrollment Management

Using a variety of tools from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Google Docs to Gantt sheets created with SmartSheet, I manage budgets, assign tasks, communicate with team members and create timelines and deadlines.
